What's New?

Practice Groups are Back, Virtually

I stopped doing regular practice groups because it was hard to travel and organize them to get 15 or so people per session. But it will be easy to do that in the virtual land of conference calls and Skype. So starting in December the monthly Practice Group is back as a teleclass, one for US, one for Skype users. In each 2 hour session I will:

  • have you work with my animals doing verifiable exercises, and
  • give tips and advice and answer any questions you have about technique or issues concerning animal communication.

There will be time to work with your animals or any cases you want the group to work on. To have your animal included in a session you will need to email me with the animal's photo and the issues/questions before the teleclass.

You can preregister for the Practice Group through my workshop schedule page. The number of participants will be limited so everyone will have a chance to participate.

Professional Mentoring Program

I am offering a Professional Mentoring Program for people who want to practice professionally or who already are professional animal communicators and would like to hone a skill or resolve an issue/problem. This program is completely tailored to the individual. I provide homework assignments and you will need to complete case studies as part of the curriculum. If you are interested in participating in the Professional Mentoring Program contact me by phone or email.

One of my blog followers, Jeanne, sent in this story about a toad she encountered a few decades ago when she was living in the San Gabriel Mountains in California.

"One day I walked out to the front of my house and was standing in the driveway when a horned toad came out of the bushes and stopped and looked at me. I was stunned...he ran into the garage and I followed. He stopped and didn't move as I leaned down and reached for him. Very much to my surprise he let me pick him up. My daughter who was an expert at small animal habitats, even at six years old, made the perfect landscape for him in an empty terrarium. We went to the pet store for meal worms to feed him. He wouldn't eat...we tried everything we could think of, but he wouldn't eat. After over a week, on a Sunday, my husband took the children hiking and the horned toad was in the back yard in the sun. I went back to talk to him...got down on the ground and looked in the terrarium and asked him why he wouldn't eat. I told him I was very upset and wanted to know what I could do. I heard almost as clearly as if he had spoken out loud: he wanted me to let him out of the cage and take him back to the place I had first seen him. He didn't want to be in the cage because he had things to do. He said and if I let him out he would come back and visit me. I thought that this was crazy, but dismissed my doubts right away; it was too real to be crazy. So, I immediately put him back in the driveway and he ran off. Weeks later, I was doing something in the back of the house and "heard" him call me. I went to the side door, and there on the stoop was my little horned toad. I said hello and that I was so happy to see him. He said that he had promised to come, so he did. I asked if there was something I could do for him and he told me he wanted a drink of water. I put my hand down in front of him and he crawled on. I took him in the kitchen and put a little water in my palm; he drank it. He told me he had to go and please put him outside. He told me he would be back again. He did come back...three more times. Same scenario. It just seemed normal to me. One day, I was out in front again and the horned toad came running out of the bushes again, right up to my feet. He told me that he had to leave and wouldn't be coming back, so he had come to say good bye and to thank me. I was blown away. I told him I loved knowing him and that I would miss him. He said he felt the same and now he had to leave. He ran off into the bushes and I never saw him again. I had tremendous respect for him; he was a very serious little fellow with an incredible spirit. This is the experience against which I measure all animal communication."

I just spent two days learning how to do bodywork on my horses with April Battles who made the YouTube below about Yoga for Horses. The stretches she shows (starting with a carrot stretch) are great to do every day with your horse. If your horse has trouble doing any of the Horse Yoga moves, it will help you identify the corresponding problem.

April combines a number of modalities into about an hour and a half session that addresses all the issues your horse has, and does so effectively. It really works and you really see a difference right away. Using the horse yoga stretches daily after a corrective session, you can often keep your horse sound and happy all on your own. Check out her endurance horse in the video and how fit he is . WOW. When she got him April was told he could not do endurance; but he's now done over 2000 miles in two years, staying comfortable and sound. To purchase her video and learn more about her work go to April's website.

Stop the Wild Mustang Roundups

The following is a blurb from the Cloud Foundation. Go to their website to sign the petition to save wild mustangs in the US.

The U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is not listening to the American public or Congress; please join us in making 'A Unified Call for an Immediate Moratorium on Wild Horse & Burro Roundups'. We may not all agree on exactly what the best way to manage our wild herds but it is clear that if the roundups are not stopped immediately, there will be very few wild horses and burros left in the wild. For example, BLM plans to begin the Calico herd complex roundup on December 1st in NW Nevada. This three-month long roundup in the dead of winter will remove over 2500 wild horses and with the extreme cold and wind, harsh weather, very pregnant mares, and rough terrain of canyons, steep rocky slopes and cliffs, people familiar with the area expect a significant number of deaths to result. BLM needs to stop before the helicopters take off to roundup the Calico herds. Please sign on for our horses and burros and ask others to do the same. We thank you for your support, The Cloud Foundation.

Manifesting to Shift Things for the Better

If you are working for a human or animal welfare cause, have a sick human or animal friend you want to help, are concerned about something that is happening on the Earth (so much to pick from), or are working on something that will help the earth, like sustainable agriculture, or alternative media, you can supercharge your efforts by adding in a manifesting component. Here's how:

  1. Come up with a short phrase that expresses what you desire. For example, if you are working to eliminate nuclear weapons, your phrase could be something like: There is a shift in consciousness and nuclear weapons are banned throughout the world. You want the phrase to express what you would truly like to see happen, regardless of whether it looks feasible from your present vantage point.
  2. Spend a few minutes each day alone imagining what life would be life if your catch phrase had already happened. What would you be feeling, doing, and saying. What would you be working on instead? Or worried about instead? How would others be acting? Make this as real as you can as if it is your new reality.
  3. As you go through your day, if you find yourself thinking negatively about your issue, consciously cancel the negative thought, say your catch phrase to yourself, and briefly imagine the feeling of your positive outcome again.

It is pretty amazing what this simple technique can do. If you do it with one or more other people it makes it even more powerful. Try it and get back to me with any great results. And pass this tip on to your friends.

Here is a YouTube from Greg Braden that explains how to do this. You aren't asking for it (praying for it), you are experiencing it as if it has happened.
