I just did a trial workshop with a natural horse trainer, Maggie Metzker, where we combined our various skills and our heightened intuitive abilities to help horses and riders have breakthroughs in their relationships and in their groundwork, riding interactions and abilities. It was simply amazing how it worked. With the insights we helped them see and the shifts we helped them make in their bodies, reactions, and etc. they made huge changes. By the end of four hours all three riders were acting completely differently with their horses, they were having fun, and the horses were completely relaxed, having fun and hugely grateful! My book Ask Your Animal is all about combining intuitive communication with traditional training. It works; try it.

Here is a story from a reader:

Hi, Marta,  I read your blog, have taken one of your classes, and I thought you’d enjoy this. I was tacking up my horse yesterday – he usually stands very calmly for grooming and tacking, but yesterday he was fidgety, pawing and moving around alot. I thought maybe he had to urinate – he doesn’t like to do it at the tie rail, so I walked him back to his stall – nothing happened. I walked him back and finished tacking up, but he was still fidgety. Then I thought it was the bag of carrots on the bench about 10 feet away. Finally I looked at him and said, “Are you hungry? I know it’s going to be feeding time soon, but we’re going for a short ride, and you’ll get your treats (beet pulp and supplements) when we’re done”. The fidgeting stopped immediately, and he was an angel during and after our ride! Just when I think I’m not communicating with him I have an experience like this that proves that I am. Thanks for encouraging all of us to believe we can do it!             Marilyn Dowd
 

Where’s Bea?

This is a really cute video of a lamb who was raised inside and typically comes when they say, Where’s Bea, but this time she got lost and couldn’t find her way.

Mustang Update

Today is the March for the Mustangs in Washington DC, London, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. If you haven’t heard but can and want to attend find details at http://thecloudfoundation.org/  Also call Obama today (even if you live outside US)   202 456  1414 (ask for white house comment line) and  call Congress (if you are in US)  202 224 4321 to support the mustangs. (Call everyday if you can).

What to say? Here are some talking points:

  I support the growing public movement to ban roundups, return the imprisoned mustangs to the wild, and manage wild horses and burros in the wild in accordance with the 1971 Act that was supposed to protect them. The BLM is acting illegally and squandering millions in public money; they need to be investigated. Their lying needs to be stopped. The BLM is lying about the horses – the horses  are fine on the range and doing well –  until they get rounded up that is. The freeloading ranchers need to be charged for running cows on public land. No more subsidies for cattle ranching on public land. Make room for the horses. Stop the cruelty and slaughter of wild horses. The world is appalled at what we are doing to our wild heritage. …. I could go on.

Also today send energy and power and strength to the rallies.

On an ongoing basis send healing energy, strength and protection to the 37, 000 wild horses imprisoned by BLM in dirt holding pens. Manifest for them… see  and feel them released and back in the wild (those that can be…) and those that cant in good homes. See and feel  Obama committing to preserving and managing the horses in the wild. See and feel the BLM being reformed from the top down.
