Your Questions

A former student and current practitioner asked me how to respond when someone wants you, through talking intuitively,  to confirm (or deny) suspected abuse of an animal. In this case, the client suspected that the petsitter may have been abusive to the animal. This is a tricky situation because anything you get intuitively may or may not be accurate, so you could never state definitively that there was abuse. The only way to know for sure is if you have proof. In the case of abuse, proof is usually easy to come by. If the animal cowers or winces when touched and never did that before, then it’s likely someone hit the animal. When an animal acts depressed or aggressive after being with a sitter or at the groomer, then it could be an indication of an abusive incident. If there is obvious bodily injury, then legal proceedings would be in order. But up to that point, without physical proof, there is no way to pursue a legal remedy. The word of a communicator will not stand up in court - you can’t take it to the bank. I will usually give people my intuitive reading of the situation and ask the animal, but I make sure the client understands the limitations of my intuitive impressions. I tell people if they think there was abuse then there probably was, and they should act accordingly to protect their animal from further injury.

Another Question

Q -I seem to take in the global suffering of animals, leaving me vulnerable and powerless. (mind you, human suffering also contributes, but animal suffering hits me much more). All my channels are obviously too open, which drains me and leaves me knackered and over-sensitive. No doubt you may have come across this phenomenon more often …  Is there anything I can do?

A – Well, I am in the same boat and so are most animal lovers,  I suspect. What I have found is that I have to go through the pain and grief to the other side and stay aware and open. From that point I can proceed to decide what I can do and begin to help. This is not a one time affair. Every new assault on animals and the earth causes pain and grief, and I move through it and keep doing. I don’t go out of my way to see the painful images and videos, but I do make sure that I know the truth and full scope of what is happening. I did extensive research on the murder of the Gulf of Mexico and was unable to stop crying for about three week running. I believe you have to let yourself feel and let the emotion go through you – if you block emotions, they just stay locked inside. That can’t be good no matter how you look at it. But to be able to experience that level of intensity you will need to be healthy and resilient. That means eating only organic, taking lots of supplements (EFAs and Mg are two critical ones) exercising, doing something for stress, like yoga, tai chi or chi gung and finding ways to bring joy into the mix. For me it is yoga, and finding the time to go riding, hike in nature, sing, do things with friends, and watch movies. Finally, it is important to act – find something to do that you feel will make a difference and do it. Sometimes you can help an animal in crisis, or one stuck in a bad situation, simply by talking with them and giving your best advice (or by clearing stuck emotions, see EFT link below). If you aren’t sure what to do, do a daily brainstorming session – e.g., what can I do that will help the mustangs – write for five minutes daily. That process can bring up great ideas, spontaneously from your subconscious and from the universal library.

Emotional Freedom Technique for Animals

This is a cool story about using EFT to help an abused mustang heal emotionally. It gives you a good idea of how to do this using yourself as the surrogate for the animal. At the bottom of the page you can go to the authors website and download tapping charts and techniques for free.

So……. What to do about all of this? Aside from the above advice, here is some wisdom from the Hopi Elders.

The Elders, Oraibi, Arizona Hopi Nation

You have been telling the people that this is the Eleventh Hour.
Now you must go back and tell the people that this is the Hour.
And there are things to be considered:
Where are you living?
What are you doing?
What are your relationships?
Are you in right relation?
Where is your water?
Know your garden.
It is time to speak your Truth.
Create your community.
Be good to each other.
And do not look outside yourself for the leader.
This could be a good time!
There is a river flowing now very fast.
It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid.
They will try to hold on to the shore.
They will feel they are being torn apart, and they will suffer greatly.
Know the river has its destination.
The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of
the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above the water.
See who is in there with you and celebrate.
At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally.
Least of all, ourselves.
For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.
The time of the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves!
Banish the word struggle from your attitude and your vocabulary.
All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.
We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.

I would only add to store up six months worth of food, figure out how to be as self sufficient as possible, and take basic precautions against radiation:

Cover your gardens from rain ( I used UV plastic) and use some kind of detox for you and your animals. I am using Zeolite, apple pectin, and betonite clay (internal). I’m also using iodine externally every day on skin, and taking chlorophyl.

Please feel free to pass this along to anyone who you think would like to read it.
